About Our Parent Company

Global Imaging Systems, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Thomas S. Johnson with financial backing from the venture capital firm, Golder Thoma Cressey Rauner. His vision was to create a leading organization in the highly fragmented office automation industry, through a decentralized structure, in partnership with quality entrepreneurs. During the years that followed, his vision became a reality.

On June 17, 1998, Global became a publicly-owned company when it completed its initial public offering. Global continued to grow through organic growth and acquisitions, and exceeded one billion dollars in revenue during the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006.

Global Imaging Systems is the most disciplined consolidator in the highly fragmented office imaging solutions industry. Global offers thousands of customers a One-Stop Shop providing 1) a broad line of digital office imaging solutions including the sale and service of copiers, fax machines, printers and related software, 2) video conferencing and other electronic presentation systems, and 3) network integration and management services.

Since its founding in June 1994, Global has acquired more than 80 businesses and has operations in 32 states and the District of Columbia. Our operating companies are organized into core companies in key markets across the U.S. The remaining businesses operate as satellites of the core companies. Under the Company philosophy of “Think Globally, Act Locally” and a decentralized structure, core companies operate under their pre-acquisition names and management, preserving and building upon existing customer relationships.

On May 11, 2007, Global was acquired by Xerox Corporation. Global continues to operate as an independent unit of Xerox. As an office technology dealer, Global sells products from various suppliers, including now Xerox. Global’s strategic mission is to be the most efficient, low-cost provider of document and image processing technology and services, including input, storage, and output. We are "Passionate about Customer Productivity."
